சுடர் - Sudar
s. light, splendour, lustre, ஒளி; 2. fire, நெருப்பு; 3. a burning lamp, விளக்கு; 4. the flame of a candle, தீச்சிகை; 5. the Moon, சந்திரன்; 6. the Sun, சூரியன்.
சுடரார், God, as lustrous. சுடரெறிய, to radiate, twinkle, gleam. சுடரோன், the sun, சுடரவன். சுடர்த்தகழி, a small candelabrum. சுடர்நிலை, a candle-stick, a lampstand. சுடர் விட்டெரிய, to burn brightly. இரு சுடர், the two lights, the sun and the moon.
கொழுந்து -
s. tender twigs, leaves, shoots, sprigs,
தளிர்; 2. anything tender,
மெலியது; 3. cuttings planted.
நடுகொழுந்து; 4. flame,
சுவாலை; 5. the front rank, as of an army.
கொழுந்திலை, a tender leaf. கொழுந்துக்கால், sticks to support betel creepers. கொழுந்து நட, to plant betel and other cuttings. கொழுந்துவிட்டெரிகிற விளக்கு, candle that burns in a flame or flames up. கொழுந்து வேர், a slender root. அக்கினிக் கொழுந்து, flame of fire. சுடர்க்கொழுந்து, flame of a candle. மருக்கொழுந்து, a shrub, see மரு.
தண் - tan
s. coolness; 2. that which is cool or refreshing; 3. adj. cool.
தண்கதிர், தண்சுடர், தண்ணவன், the moon, (the cool-rayed). தண்ணீர், cold or fresh water; 2. water in general, நீர்; 3. what is too much diluted. The common use of the word is தண்ணி. See separately.
