ஓமம் - Oomam
ஹோமம், s. burnt offering, casting of ghee, grain etc. into the sacred fire; 2. sacrifice, வேள்வி.
ஓமகுண்டம், a hole made in the ground for sacrificial fire. ஓமத்திரவியம், requisites for a sacrifice. ஓமம்பண்ண, --செய்ய, to perform a burnt sacrifice. ஓமம்வளர்க்க, to kindle and feed the sacrificial fire. ஓமாக்கினி, sacrificial fire.
இறுதி - Iruthi
s. (இறு) end, death, மரணம்; 2. the ending or termination of a word. case or tense, விகுதி; 3. limit, bound, வரையறை.
இன்றிறுதியாகச் செய்யேன், henceforth I will do it no more. இறுதிக் கடிதம், ultimatum. இறுதிக்காலம், time of death; end of all things, ஊழிக்காலம். இறுதியில் இன்பம், (இறுதி+இல்+இன் பம்) everlasting bliss, மோட்சசுகம். இறுதிவேள்வி, funeral oblations.
வேள்வி -
v. n. & s. a sacrifice, யாகம்; 2. adoration, worship, ஆராதனை; 3. the tenth lunar mansion, மகம்; 4. a sacrificial pot, ஓமகுண்டம்; 5. beneficence, ஈகை.
வேள்விக்குண்டம், as வேள்வி 4. வேள்வித் தறி, a sacrificial post, தூப ஸ்தம்பம். வேள்வி நாயகன், Indra. வேள்வியாளர், Brahmins, munificent persons. வேள்வி யோம்பல், offering burnt sacrifices.
