s. a sign, a mark, அடையாளம்; 2. an organ of sense, ஐம்பொறியி லொன்று; 3. a spark of fire, தீப்பொறி; 4. a machine, a trap; 5. the temples, கன்னப்பொறி; 6. knowledge, அறிவு; 7. letter, writing, எழுத்து; 8. beautyspots, தேமல்; 9. Lakshmi, 1. beauty; 11. a dhoney, தோணி; 12. riches, wealth, செல்வம்; 13. destiny, இலிபி; 14. anything minute, as a speck.
பொறியிலே பட்டது, it hit him on the temple. பொறி பறக்கிறது, --சிதறுகிறது, sparks fly. பொறி மின்னுகிறது, it glimmers. பொறியிலார், the base, the mean, கீழ் மக்கள். பொறியிலி, an unfortunate person; 2. a blind person, one wanting an organ of sense. பொறியேற்ற, --வைக்க, to set a trap. எலிப்பொறி (எலிப்பறி) a rat-trap. ஐம்பொறி, the five senses. முப்பொறி, the three organs instrumental for divine worship:- 1. மனம், the mind; 2. வாக்கு, the mouth; & 3. காயம், the bady.
கிலி -
s. fear, fright, பயம்.
கிலிகோலம், confusion, disorder, அலங்கோலம். கிலிபிடிக்க, -பிடித்திருக்க, to be frightened. கிலிபிடித்ததோ, புலியடித்ததோ, were you overtaken by fear or attacked by a tiger? (ie.) fear is more hurtful than external danger.
கெலி -
VI. v. t. gain, win, conquer, வெல்லு; 2. be full of terror, அஞ்சு; 3. be greedy, desire, ஆசைப்படு.
கெலியன் பாற்சோறு கண்டதுபோல், as a greedy man saw milk and rice. கெலி, கிலி, v. n. terror, fear, greediness. கெலிபிடித்திருக்க, to tremble with fear; to be terror-stricken. கெலிப்பாயிருக்க, to be successful. கெலிப்பு, v. n. victory (x தோர்ப்பு, defeat).
