சிக்கனம் - Sikkanam

செட்டுக்கட்டு, thrift. செட்டுக்காரன், a niggard, a harddealer. செட்டுக்கு வாங்கி விற்க, to buy up things for selling. செட்டுப்பண்ண, to trade, to be closefisted. செட்டுப்பலிக்க, -க்கிடைக்க, to gain or profit by trading. கடுஞ்செட்டு, exorbitant profits, extreme stinginess.
தேய்மானம் -
s. waste produced by rubbing, தேய்வு; 2. frugality, சிக்கனம்; 3. the touch of gold on the stone or the quantity lost by rubbing, பொன் னுரை தேய்மானம்.
தேய்மானக்காரன், a mean penurious person, fond of living at the cost of others.
