caus. of சும), load, lay a charge or burden on a person, charge with a fault,
ஏற்று.
சுமத்தி வைக்க, to impute, to charge, to impose a debt upon a person. ஆக்கினை சுமத்த, to inflict punishment, to condemn. குற்றஞ் சுமத்த, to accuse.
ஆக்கினை - akkinai
s. the order of the superiors, command, the exercise of supreme power, கட்டளை; 2. sentence, judgment தீர்ப்பு; 3. punishment, death, mutilation, தண்டனை; 3. one of the 6 adharas (in Yoga), described as a bipetal lotus between the eye-prows; ஆறு ஆதாரங்களிலொன்று see ஆஞ்ஞை.
நாலாக்கினையும் பண்ண, to cut off the nose, ears, hands and feet. ஆக்கினா சக்கிரம், the discus-weapon as a token of sovereignty; authority. ஆக்கினைக்குட்பட, to undergo punishment. ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்க, to condemn, to sentence, to declare punishment. ஆக்கினையிட, to punish, to order.
